Fire & Smoke Damper Testing – Quick Reference (AS1851)
As per Australian Standard AS 1851 – Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment, fire and smoke dampers must be inspected and tested as part of the building’s fire safety maintenance program.

They normally contain a fusible link that melts when exposed to high temperature, causing the damper blades to close and stop the spread of fire.
